Yes, TheButler208, I usually start out low, the only reason I ended up at 8X AA is that I had these horrible flickering runway lines, and on the glideslope the centreline was all jagged, worst of all was on touchdown close to an intersection, then the lines of the intersecting r'way would be risky if you had epileptic tendencies. setting to 8X stopped this, it may be due to my particular display/GPU combo (?).

Yep, turn off DX10, lots of addons don't do DX10. Remember what I said about doing a full re-install, you will be a lot better off starting back from scratch, please believe this, I know, the hard way,

*Sigh*, okay so once more.

1. Uninstall EVERYTHING.

2. Install FSX - Fly - turn off FSX

3. Install SP1

4. Restart Computer

5. START Fsx, and fly

6. Turn off FSX, install SP2

7. Restart computer

??

And then install add-ons?

Yes, you have the order of installation correct, except you don't have to restart the computer in between, its good to defrag your hard disc after installing too. Before you go through the hassle of instaling the add ons, try see what your performance is like first, if you are happy, keep going, checking perf along the way.

Well I did a few tweaks, but I am still getting like AVERAGE 15 FPS..

It's not as bad as a slideshow as it was before, it's just not so choppy is what I mean.

get a bunch of fps enhancing texture replacements off of avsim.

try these:

Trees- Tom Knudsen, Forest V2

Lights- Luke Harvest, Airport Light Environment Lite

Autogen Links

http://ops.precision...escriptions.spb

scroll down a bit until you see a little blue text that says AutogenDescriptions.spb

when you download it goto your main fsx autogen folder and paste it in there, click yes to overwrite.

More Autogen help:

Resized/Reworded Autogen: Ian Thatcher, Its the second one not the first!

Water Fix: Tom Knudsen, Water fix final, scroll down its the last one

BTW THIS IS ALL AT AVSIM EXCEPT FOR THE WEBSITE I POSTED ABOVE FOR THE AUTOGEN SUBSCRIPITIONS FILE!!!!!

thats about all i can think of for now. and make sure you goto your .cfg file and tweak it accordingly
btw im getting about 15-25 frames all the time and everywhere, so it can work, oh and my gfx card is an intergrated laptop card. 256mb of ram and im still managing to get my fsx to look a little like mangos, but with more blurries.

hope this helps dude!

If you defrag once a week - it's faster.. I defragged the computer at work - takes over 1 hour because it has NOT been defragged in ages!

You need to get both SP1 & SP2 for FSX at fsinsider.com. You won't like this but, you should uninstall FSX, everything, addons etc. then reinstall FSX, start up, fly, shut it down, install SP1, start up, fly, shut it down, install SP2 and away you go. At first you should just try FSX with the default settings it has calculated for your rig, set your Nvidia AntiAliasing and AnisotropicFiltering to 4X for starters, you can slide these up as you find out how your performance is, my AA is at 8X, I find the AnisoF doesent really matter, but don't set it too high at first anyway. I have not used any tweaks and my perf is very good, I lock FPS at 20 at the moment, don't see any need to have it higher. See your FPS by doing Shift+Z twice.
I'm unsure about the Nvidia control panel... I tried settings related to the FSX game but it looked like these were being overridden by the general settings, so I have the FSX game settings set to use the general settings, I couldnt be bothered fighting with the control panel at the moment.
What about if I buy acceleration?

What would the order be?
FSX
Accelration
SDK
SDK2

and then the rest off the addons such as Ultimate Traffic, sceneries, etc?

FSX, then Acceleration, theres no need to instal the SDK unless you specifically want to use that stuff, you don't need it to fly.
