If you have FS9 and you go on multiplayer can you see people from FSX online and Vice Versa?

You can only fly multiplayer with FS9 and FSX mixed if the person in FSX connects to a server through FSHostClient and the person in FS9 connects to the same server AFAIK

Correct.
I see mixed FS9 and FSX simmers all the time on the server that I go to.

Some people find that the world of VATSIM & IVAO quite daunting and would prefer to fly around and not worry about being told off for doing something wrong, etc...
