Hello
Welcome to the forums
Firstly as i belive, The latest X-Plane Is version 9. But as i hear it takes up around 60GB Of hard Disk Space.
Personally choose a sim and stick to it, FSX is great, Ive just made the step up from FS9 to FSX and i can see so many differences in FSX.
And not having a go at you, But try to refur from using words like kewl, kl, k, yh.
I use the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and throttle and rudder pedals, And for my Airbus Flights ive got me trusty Joystick.

Yes, full install (high quality mesh for the entire world) will take a huge bunch out of your hard drive, and so what? Hard drives are CHEAP these days.
Anyway. You don't NEED to install it all, like you do with FS9/FSX. You can very, very easily choose what to install or not. For instance, USA is probably broken up into like 15-20 squares. Select the areas you'll be flying in. Only fly in a small part of USA? No problem - select the square (or squares) that cover this area.
I fly mainly in Norway as it's my home, so I installed Norway, and a small part of Spain since I'm building a scenery for a friends local airfield there. Norway covers about 4-5 squares and I installed one square for Spain where the airfield is located. In total, X-Plane plus scenery is less than 6GB.. I don't see anything bad about doing it that way.
If you want to fly somewhere else, just insert Disc 1, start the installer, and select Install/remove scenery from the menu, select the squares you want to add to the installation and away you go.
Good luck!

Let's discuss about X-plane it is a flight simulator for personal computers. X-Plane is capable of communicating with other applications via UDP. X-Plane is also available for Windows, Linux, and the Macintosh OS.

Thank you for the information. I didn't realize you could install just parts of it. I have X-Plane and may go ahead and just install the eastern US so I can start getting some experience in using it.
