Ok. Thank you so far for your help. I was able to get on the server, resolve my low fps issue, and even speak with controller.
Hopefully this is the last problem... Occasionally when I change aircraft while on the VATSIM server and second aircraft will appear on top of the one I've chosen. The only way to fix it is to completely exit the game and restart everything. Anyone ever heard of this?

This has happened to me before. I believe it is just a server glitch that doesn't remove the 'ghost' of your first aircraft. There is no way to fix it besides giving it some time.

Well I kinda got it narrowed down. This always happens when I'm flying in the vicinity of another pilot. I think it happens when there is a particular model that I don't have downloaded. Which brings me to my next question. How do I get the vip model set for vatsim? The forums appear to still be down over there.
