Thanks Bman.
The ceiling for a Lear Jet is 51,000 Ft.
Remember the Scottish Golfer that died in a Lear Jet? They were cleared for 50,000 Ft., only problem was a door didn't seal tightly enough and they asphixiated at 50,000 Ft. The plane was on autopilot and just kept flying until it ran out of fuel.
They sent an F-16 up to investigate and found all the windows iced over, which meant that the atmosphere had got in to the plane. The F-16 stayed with the plane until it started down, with orders to blow it out of the sky if it was going to crash in a congested area. Fortunately it crashed in a field in South Dakota.

I know the story quite well - he looked Scottish but was none other than our hometown golf legend - Payne Stewart. Straight out of Springfield he was!
Great guy.
Long Live the Memory of Payne Stewart

Well I'll be darned. I always thought he was Scottish. He always wore the plaid pants and everything.
Sorry for the loss. They said that they all went to sleep and died. The crash wasn't significant because it landed in an unpopulated area, and all on board were allready dead.
I guess there is supposed to be a warning that goes off to alert the pilots to a danger, of an un-pressurized plane. Apparently either they never heard it, it was deactivated or it didn't go off, otherwise they could have put on the oxygen masks, and got to a lower altitude.
Again sorry for the loss.
