Hey guys, is there any airport that VATSIM designates as a training airport? I really need help learning radio procedures....and a nice small airport would be nice!

Have you tried being an observer and just listening to other pilots?

Yeah, that has always been a suggestion of mine over at the Vatsim forum.

For example, look at any online MMO game.  There is always a training ground before people hit the real world.
I think it would benefit all of the Vatsim community if there was a low key airport with ATC that would constantly help noob pilots.  I want someone to say to me "hey, say it this way!".  Most of the time when there is ATC at an airport means there is also other traffic.   If there is other traffic I am reluctant to ask questions in fear of bugging everyone else.

Indeed Bigflyer - I have that printed out sitting next to my desk.  I still reference it.

There is no doubt that the PRC is full of good info.    I still get what you are after cfschris.  I wish there was one too.  The thing I have found is that so many people know so much about it in general that you thing they would jump at the chance to sit there and correct you.

They hold new Pilot nights, which pretty useful if you're new to Piloting on VATSIM.

Just wait until they man PBI or something. Also remember if Center is on that means every airport in his airspace with a tower is considered manned.

In the VATSIM-UK Division they have a thing called 'New-Pilots-Night' where they basically tell you the in's and out of it all. That may help you and if you want more info. I'll be happy to provide it

If you take a look at that, I THINK it is the right one. Give David Winters a message via email asking about it etc and I'm sure he will allow you to join
