FS Version: FSX
Location: Alaska
Duration of Flight: Roughly 2 Hours

Departure: Gustavus (Take Off 16:42 Local)
Arrival: Teslin (Landing 19:22 Local)

Route: PAGS GUMLE YSQ CYZW (IFR)
Link to Flight Plan:

Time of Day: 16:40
Meteorological Conditions: IFR: Overcast, 3-4000ft ceiling, moderate turbulence, winds 13kts gutsing @ 17kts, visibility 20NM.

Description: Hop 10 is the last flight in Alaska before flying to a new region. This is a senic flight from Gustavus Alaska to Teslin, British Columbia flying over several mountain ranges and lakes in worsening weather with ever-diminishing visibility. I had no problems with the Maule M7-235 but you can certainly tell when you are fully loaded (I took off at 2lbs below MTOW). Next time I might take a twin engine aircraft, but the Maule was very fun.

I had to edit this one (below), and all of the ones after it so that you would be able to see much of anything. The lighting and weather made flying this approach very challenging, but fun!

Thhe landing was a little rough because their was an almost direct crosswind at 16kts.

If you enjoyed this, please comment as I've put about 4½ hours of work into this. Thanks!

Well I spent about 30 min setting up the flight (most of that was weather; I set up several seperate weather stations along the flight), 2 hours flying it, 30min editing, resizing, and converting the pics to JPEG, and almost 15min writing the post and uploading the pics, so it was probaly closer to 3¼ hours of work. 4½ was just a guess.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it!

Yes it was a very nice flight, I haven't enjoyed a long flight like that for a while.

Teslin is a default airport, the identifier is CYZW.

Haha! I take it you've been reading the "My All New Airport" thread? :hrmm: Speaking of which, everything's completely done with that, except for AI.

Now that you mention it, I think I will modify the default Teslin airport...and maybe Gustavus too. :hrmm:  That SDK is so addicting!!  :)

No problem. Oh, and just so you know, I believe each hop's thread is supposed to be layed out in a pre-determind setup--for mine, I looked at the last two hops and followed their pattern.

 I was thinking the departure on each  person's hop should be the prevoius flight's destination---sound good---But maybe people want to do thier own thing!!-

Umm, you're free to do you're own thing, but this series of "hops" is supposed to be like a relay. If you mean the part about the car trip to vancouver, I think that's OK, but I don't think it would all right for you to start in, say, Australia.

Oh, and just for fun I decided to show you guys what my approach really looked like.

Say, this makes the final of the alaska series right? How about Bman makes a vote for next continent, then region.
