phpVMS (http://www.phpvms.net) is announcing the official release date of August 9.

phpVMS is a full-featured virtual airline management solution. Your ENTIRE VA site is available, in one easy to use package.

Some of the features:

  - Easy installer
  - Ability to post news
  - Site pages for static content
  - Comprehensive AJAXified admin panel
  - Multiple airlines with their own routes and schedules
  - Pilot registration
  - Pilot groups, and registration approval
  - Pilot ranks, based on hours.
  - Add fields to a pilot's profile for registration, or for admin-only access (ie add a field for VATSIM ID)
  - PIREP approval or denial
  - Comments on PIREPs by admin and submitter
  - PIREPS with ability to add custom fields to reports (i.e, Fuel Burn)
  - RSS Feeds for admins for latest PIREPs and pilot registration
  - Google Maps and charts integration
  - Easy airport entry and hub management (enter your ICAO, and all the airport information, including name, coordinates are retrieved!)
  - Flight route management, with AJAX powered search
  - Flight bidding and queue system
  - Aircraft management
  - Import/export flight plans from CSV file
  - Skins and templating system for *easy* customization (copy a template to your skin folder and modify it! It's just HTML... no need to touch any code or look into the guts) - easy to create skins and custom templates to distribute
  - Events and addon system

phpVMS runs on PHP 5 with MySQL. It also features a addon/plugin/events subsystem to facilitate addons and additional functionality. phpVMS is powered by the Codon Framework.

Even though this is an initial release with many features, more will be added as we go on, including detailed route and pilot statistics, integration with the FSACARS client, and various "social" features to help facilitate a successfull, streamlined virtual airline.

We will be launching with Cerulean Airlines, which has been instrumental in the testing and development of this platform, and are currently running the system to power their site.

Best of all, this system is FREE.

I hope you'll come check it out!

I will have a full preview of the admin area up soon, and hopefully a demo site by August 9.
I am hoping to freeze the code by next Wednesday, depending on my group of testers.

Here are a few screenshots of the admin area:

Congratulations Nabeel! I've been following your progress and this looks awesome. Thinking seriously about switching over to your system and getting rid of VAFS. We'll see. You and your testers have done a tremendous service for the community. My hat's off to you.

Thanks man!

If you do decide to, I'm going to be helping people with the setup and guides on how to skin and customize, etc. I want to see this project to success.

This isn't the end either.. I have alot more plans...

Do you use XML to integrate the data onto a VA website?

I must say, this looks amazing.  The control panel looks fairly easy to use.  I had a VA idea in the back of my mind a couple months back, but the challenge of coding, using vabase, etc drew me back.  I hope to finally start a VA with your software.  Thanks!

Which data?
I use JSON strings for the ajax stuff, and a json service for airport information import
