The picture above is from an UHDT texture alltough the logo doesn`t tell us.
This shot was made before we made the logo.

No idea, I did not make the shots and they come from various systems.

The better the card the better the result.
Nevertheless UHDT shows better (much better) on all systems , older or newer.

I don't suppose you guys will do any GA aircraft? I can imagine a C172 that's had 10,000 training hours on it coming up all nice and ... er .. used with that sort of treatment. Would be cool.

Being almost a 95% GA painter myself , I started my experiments on HDT and UHDT for McPhat Studios with a little bird.
The Fouga Magister by Restauravia.

On this picture you can se the difference between NDT and HDT.
Even the little marks behind the glass are clearly visible now.
The text around the gauge is not realistic just experimental.

You can imagine how a bird like this would look in UHDT by McPhat Studios.
So my answer is very clear there will be UHDT GA`s by McPhat Studios.
No more NDT for me anymore in future I will paint HDT and UHDT only.

HDT=1024*1024
UHDT=2048*2048
FS9 is 1024 limited and fsx 4096.

Is that correct ?
Thanks.

>>>>Ehm. That is one ugly repaint you've got there Leen<<<<

Thanks for the kind words.

Some facts.

This Restauravia Fouga Magister model is a very complicated model to paint.
The real bird is kind of ugly too , it looks like a tomato.

This repaint is the most downloaded repaint for the Restauravia Fouga Magister.
The updated version paintversion (due to modelchanges in the Restauravia Fouiga Magister) I made, did almost as much downloads as the second-best one.( spoken in terms of downloads)

I used this model to point at the fact that small models like this one can benefit in a great way from UHDT.

NDT = Normal Definition Textures = up to 100 pixels per meter
HDT = High Definition Textures = 100 up to 200 pixels per meter
UHDT= Ultra High Definition Textures = 200 pixels per meter and more

Bigger than 4096 square?

Ever tried to handle an 65 layers PSD file in that size?

Best regards

Some more explanation.

We are not talking about texturesheet sizes.
We are just talking about pixels per meter real aircraft.

In other words, when we have a part on a texture wich represents one meter of the real aircraft and this part of the texture is more than twohundred pixels wide we say is UHDT.

A complete fuselage for a very long airliner , one single texturesheet of 1024x1024will give a very low NDT quality of 75 pixels per meter or so.

One single engine on the same sheet may end up as an excellent UHDT.

Wow brilliant work, it great to see the High definition phemonemon moving from cloud textures to liveries. Is there a big FPS hit with the UHDT textures?
