Hey all,

Just hit 4.05GHZ stable on my E8400 (Not E0 stepping) on air, idles at 32C after 12 hours of ORTHOS the highest temp recorded was 49C. I am really happy :hrmm: lol

Voltage is at 1.312, is that alright for normal everyday usage?

Alright, no more lol

Stable at 4.1GHZ, I am going to run Prime95 for a couple hours to verify stability

Stop when you get to 60*C or 1.4V.

Yeah, that's a nice OC. Don't pass 1.4V.

@ Pip, for these 45nm duals, the max is 60*C? I thought it was 70*C (because that's what it is for my quad).

Nice overclock, pretty darn good for not having a E0 stepping CPU.  Still can't beat me though! :hrmm: :hrmm:

Toby comparing C0 to E0 isn't exactly fair, you know that! :hrmm:  lol

My woman's machine has an 8400 E0 and it's chugging along at 4.5Ghz 1.38(1.4v bios) 27/7. My E8500 struggled to hit 4.3.

Yeah that's a real possibility tonight.  I'll be setting up my system outside maybe and see how far I can push it.   Last record was 4.545GHz so we'll see!  :hrmm:

Well if were going to be going outside I think -10C plus windchill will help me along quite a bit  :hrmm:

Let the games begin  :hrmm:

Jet, careful how much voltage you push through it.  :hrmm:

Happy overclocking!

I've run a chip at 95*C before, but it's by no means a good idea. I run my E6600 at a max of 70*C, but I recommend 60*C.

Do as I say, not as I do.

I run my quad @ like 69*C using P95, but it stays always below 45*C when I'm playing FSX.

Very nice, I have the E8400 too, but still running at 3.0Ghz..   I really don't see a need to OC it..   but I know it's one heck of a chip when you OC it
