Morning all-

I have been flying multiplayer with Shared Cockpit .... while on the Vatsim network.  We are looking for better more stable solutions for the shared cockpit functions.  I really think our options are either Gamespy network or LAN game.

Are there any other options that you guys are aware of that will allow us to sit in the shared cockpit?

The LAN network is proving to be difficult (no amount of open ports, port forwarding, DMZ enabling etc) allows the connecting persons to see the game session (FSX + SP2 + XP(SP3).

If you have any suggestions - speak up.

Well LAN is not going to work as it is for local connections.

You know a VPN setup might actually work for what you want to do. We can test it out if you'd like.

You can do LAN (and not just local connections) - you can do it far and wide.  It's just finicky when it comes time to get everyones ports open, firewalls open or with exceptions etc.

Regarding FSNet - the software isn't needed.  We can do it fine directly through FSX - we just need the stable springboard in lieu of Gamespy.
