After being inspired by Tim's "top 5" post, I realized that narrowing my entire year into 5 shots would really be impossible.

Now, don't call me selfish to think I deserve my own post, but I was incredibly lucky this year and had many amazing experiences and opportunities in 2008 to capture new things. It's my pleasure to share these photos, and I certainly hope you'll agree.

1. The clamshell style reversers of a Canadian North 737-200M activate during landing rollout at CYVQ (Norman Wells, NWT)
Posted Image

2. Contrails develop on the exhaust of a Canadian North 737-200M during climbout at -30° temperatures
Posted Image

3. A Douglas DC-4 of Buffalo Airways departs CYVQ homeward bound to CYZF (Yellowknife, NWT) after offloading a cargo load of groceries and cargo.
Posted Image

4. This North-Wright DHC-6 Twin Otter arrives at its home base of CYVQ. It is equipped with skis to operate flights to off-strip locations for the winter season.
Posted Image

5. Canadian North flight 444 departs CYVQ bound for CYEV (Inuvik, NWT)
Posted Image

6. A view out the F/O's window on a C208 Cessna Caravan traveling between CEB3 (Colville Lake, NWT) and CYVQ. The weather radar is housed inside the blister on the starboard wing.
Posted Image

7. Another Buffalo Airways cargo flight departing CYVQ, this time a Curtis C-46 Commando. This aircraft, C-FAVO, was manufactured in 1945, and has since served a number of operators including the US military and Lufthansa
Posted Image

8. This Lockheed L-100 (L-382G) Hercules departs with a full load of oil and fuel drums for CYPC (Paulatuk, NWT)
Posted Image

9. The view from the cockpit of a North-Wright Cessna C207 (C-GDBI) enroute from CEB3 to CYVQ at dusk.
Posted Image

10. North-Wright C208 Caravan C-GDLC departing the gravel/dirt strip in Deline (CYWJ) bound for CYVQ.
Posted Image

11. North-Wright B200 King Air parked on the main apron at CYVQ.
Posted Image

12. The F/O on C-GWUY this morning completes the after-start checklist as the aircraft backtracks runway 09-27 for departure to CYWJ.
Posted Image

13. Line-up of various North-Wright aircraft at their CYVQ base.
Posted Image

14. Type IV de-icing fluid is gratuitously applied to the wing of an Air Canada A320 departing CYYC (Calgary, AB)
Posted Image

15. The sun begins to slowly rise behind an Air Canada B767-300 parked at CYVR (Vancouver, BC).
Posted Image

16. The C182Q I frequently catch a ride in, as seen during a rest stop at CNL3 (Brockville-Thousand Islands Regional, ON)
Posted Image

17. Bell 206 of the utility company "Hydro One" departing CNB9 (Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, ON)
Posted Image

18. Sikorsky S-76A of Ornge departs on a medevac flight from CYXU (London, ON)
Posted Image

19. A ronery dilapidated Turbo Seneca (C-GSSW) tucked away into a corner at CZBA (Burlington, ON)
Posted Image

20. On final into CNR4 (Tobermory, ON) with the 182.
Posted Image

21. An Aeroflot B767-300 makes a firm touchdown on YYZ's 24R moments before sunset.
Posted Image

22. The #1 engine housing on an Air Canada B777-300, sans engine.
Posted Image

23. In position on runway 34 at CYYC in the Air Canada Embraer simulator. Moments later, we'd be witnessing our simulated deaths in a 150 knot windshear scenario.
Posted Image

Hope you enjoyed viewing them as much as I enjoyed capturing them :hrmm:

I didn't post the flight deck pics cause they weren't my fav. But it was a nice ride! My first time ever on a 737, if you can believe that.

Nice shots I love the one of the 732 on climb out making premature contrails due to the cold temperature at ground level.

Indeed, that's quite a sight to see aircraft leaving contrails while they taxi. Even cars would leave a contrail :hrmm:
