Nice PPD. I would have about that too if I could get my GPU2 working again :hrmm:

Get that back up and going again! I'm sure it's just a simple re-install.

We need to by top 100 by Summer timeeee!

I got SMP working again. Just grabbed a copy of the binary only file and replaced it. worked like a charm.

Still working on GPU2. Gonna try and fix it after i install 182.06 I think it is.

Finally installed the new SMP client.  Only got my rig running at 3.6GHz at the moment, but I'm still getting good numbers!

Can you say we are working on the same project?

Right now at 4300PPD, but that's cause I got a 511 on the GPU :hrmm:

Get that SMP set up Mul, would be interesting to see how the Phenom II X3 compares with the E8400.

Isn't the GPU2 app meant to tie up one core. I'm intrigued because I have seen next to no CPU usage from that process.

From my understanding....the GPU client only runs the graphics card - nothing to do with your CPU.

You can download the SMP client from F@H website, but it does take a little bit of setting up to get it going. If you wanted to go the easy route (less points) you can download the single core CPU client from the F@H website.

If you need any help, I'll be more than happy to assist you.

Interesting. Back when I started GPU2 when it first came out last year for nVidia, I recall quite clearly full CPU usage from one of my cores while using it.

Assuming running SMP is no different to a couple of months ago when I tried it out on my E6300, I shouldn't have any issues but shall see how it goes.

An another note, PPD on the current project is now 4999

Currently at 1878PPD.....Playing W.O.W and folding on my GPU is killing me. lol.

Glad to see you back folding, Mul. Don't bail on us like a lot of other people did :hrmm:. For the longest time it was Toby and I folding for the whole team.

This is very strange.

Using the latest SMP with MPICH.

Ran the install.bat to configure MPICH, then filled in all the relevant credentials in the F@H config. It all works apart from the fact that it is only utilising one core! Never had this happen before, any ideas?

edit - Forgot to flag smp with 3 cores. Lets see how this goes!

edit - New problem. FILE_IO_ERROR. Anyone ever had this one before?

Read it carefully and slowly. I did the process no less than 10x. :hrmm:

Located the problem! It was trying to access FAHCORE_78 when it's unsuitable. It's now got FAHCORE_A1 and now it seems to be chugging away quite happily. And NOW we shall see how it does PPD wise!

Overall, the rig is munching about 7400PPD all together. Quite happy with that :hrmm:

Interesting however that despite having one more core, it's barely churning just over 200 more points than Toby's E8400 screenshot also at 3.6GHz. Would it seem that F@H is better optimised with Duals and Quads?
