Long overdue, I am proud to announce the July 2009 FSW Multiplayer event. This month it is a nice long flight on Flightsimworld's own Multiplayer Server. We are looking for as many people to be there as possible, even those who usually fly VATSIM. The flight will depart from Tel Aviv's "Ben Gurion" Airport (LLBG), and it will arrive at Hong Kong's "Chep Lap Kok," airport (VHHH). We want everyone to come so below are links to preparing your computer for Multiplayer, as well as where to find freeware scenery for both Ben Gurion, and Chep Lap Kok Airport, and finding some good jets to fly.

But before the links, we need the logistics of the event. The event would be kicked off early Saturday July Twenty-Fifth 2009 at 1600 Zulu time. The starting airport will be Ben Gurion International airport (LLGB) and the ending airport will be Chep Lap Kok international airport VHHH. The routing will be determined soon and posted in this topic. The approximate length of this flight will be 9.5 hours hours.

Configuring Ports for FSHOST servers

Connecting FSX to an FSHOST game

Each of these give you all the information to fly upon the server. The server's IP address is 64.85.160.87.

Links to Scenery and Jets.

Ben Gurion, Tel Aviv - This is an excellent airport scenery. It features Tel Aviv's major airport, and satellite terrain for the area around the airport. There are also moving jetways, and other eye candy too.

Chep Lap Kok, Hong Kong - Here is another excellent freeware airport. This features Hong Kong's current major airport in the current day.
Filename (Flightsim.com) - VHH05B.zip

Jets for the Event

We do ask that you take a jet fitting for this route. Such examples would be Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, and El Al. Use your judgment.

Project Opensky - Project Opensky is home to some of the best freeware aircraft available for the Flight Simulation Community. Their 777  has a wonderful Virtual Cockpit, of which is only rivaled by the Captain Sim 757. http://www.projectop...loads-index.php

Payware -  There are many payware companies that have jets with the range, such as PMDG and  Captainsim and Level D Simulations.

July 25, 2009. 1600Z --- 64.85.160.87

Hope to see you all there

You know what, im going to make the biggest effort to stay as long as i can. I'll get my LDS 767 going again, see if i remember how to use the thing. That plane is about the 1 exception to my dislike for heavies :hrmm:

I'm pleased with my FS modifying skills. I got the iFly Panel to work perfectly with the Posky 747-400.

I tried to get it to work with the SMS 747 once, it caused FS to crash. :hrmm:

It doesn't have the range. Unless it is a BBJ2, with extra tanks. Plus it is not a heavy. I said use your judgment, that means do not take a plane that would not be on this route in real life. Cathay, JAL, China Airlines, El Al, airlines like those. In Real life, only El Al makes this flight. but it would be dull to just have 10 El Al jets flying up there.

Any of the BBJs would have no problem making it that far, the biggest issue would be speed. Most of us will probably be doing like .84, a 737 won't be able to pull that off for 4100nm.
