Has the taxi signs improved??? Don't tell me I'll see again that purple arrow. That was not good at all. Will the taxi signs be on the runway like in real life????????

Microsoft has promised to put in taxiway signs in FS2004.  I've seen them is some  screenshots and they look pretty cool..  If there going to be at EVERY airport is another question though.  I know there is going to be AI traffic at uncontrolled airports as well as controlled airports, but I don't know about the taxiway signs.

far from likely.  they have increased the number of detailed airports, and those are probably the only ones that will have taxiway signs.  but then again, it doesnt seem to be as much of a feat as whole sceneries for the microsoft team to develop, so taxiway signs might just be available at most airports.

but don't take my word...

It would be great if they would include taxiway signs.
I hate it when your taxing in a B747 and you realy cant see where the purple lign is going.

Although I suspect progressive taxi (the purple arrow) will still be an option, taxiway signs are supposed to be a part of this sim.  Bout time!

Actually, I heard that taxiway signs will be at every airport except grass strips, even at "undetailed" airports.
From what I understand, the taxiwaysigns aren't individualy placed like scenery in detailed airports, but rather auto-generated by the positions of the existing runways and taxiways. This would make it an option to have them at all airports.

(I decided to register)

Regarding the taxiway signs, I wonder how well you'll be able to see them at night.

I've got a question about that though. I wonder, would they disappear with a lower graphic setting?

Not sure Stevie.  Perhaps you need to have Scenery Complexity at a medium setting or so :o

The way I understand it, the signs will be bundled with the airport scenery rather than general scenery, so you wouldn't have to have your scenery complexity set higher.
It's likely that the signs will load at the same priority as the runways and taxiways themselves.

Cool. Thanks. There's less stuff at airports with lower scenery levels, for example at my local airport there's 2 buildings with default settings. More, and there's more buildings! :o

Progressive taxi works same as in fs2002 and has the same purple color.
The only difference is that in fs2002 you had to ask the ATC for it and in fs2004 you just turn them on / off in the ATC windows.

About the taxi sign, I think they where placed at random, seen some on odd places like on the taxi way.  :o
