Yes, it is. For Real!

On December 29th, we will be doing short hops in the Caribbean, from St. Maarten (TNCM) to Piarco (TTPP). I know it has been a long time, so let's hope for a great revival. This event will last several hours, and we will depart St. Maarten at 1900 Zulu time. (1:00 PM Central US, 11:00 AM US Pacific, 2:00 PM US Eastern)

Route

The route will be provided, leg by leg, during the flight, but I am also posting it here. The route we will fly is as follows:

St Maarten (TNCM)
St Barts (TFFJ)
F.D. Roosevelt (TNCE)
Newcastle (TKPN)
Baillif (TFFB)
Melville Hall (TDPD)
Le Lamentin (TFFF)
George F.L. Charles (TLPC)
Bequia (TVSB)
Mustique (TVSM)
Canouan (TVSC)
Union (TVSU)
Point Salines Intl (TGPY)
Piarco Intl (TTPP)

A Download link a GPS Route will be provided as we near the event's date.

Scenery

We have two sceneries, one is mandatory, the other isn't

Mandatory scenery: http://www.jg-laurent.com/en/
-This Scenery covers most of the airports on this route. It is Freeware. The Installer is in French, but you all know the drill. Just be sure to select the Mesh Checkmark as well when you install.

Optional scenery: http://www.flytampa.org/
-FlyTampa's wonderful Payware scenery that covers TNCM, TFFJ, and SABA. It is purely optional, but comes highly recommended, for this, and all future flights.

Connecting to the FSW Server

For help connecting to the Flightsimworld Multiplayer Server, IP address 64.85.160.87, check out these two topics.

Connecting FSX to an FSHOST game

Aircraft

We will be cruising At speeds of 100+ (Let's try for 140-150) knots. For this you will need a decent High Performance single, or a twin prop aircraft. I leave it up to you to determine which plane you use, but choose wisely, as the runways can be quite short on these hops.

Remember: December 29th, 2009 - 1900 Zulu - 64.85.160.87

See you there, Alaska MD-83/Da KGB.
-On The Server I am "ASA2340"

Also, I recommend Flytampa - Grenadines for FSX flyers. It covers Bequia (TVSB), Mustique (TVSM), Canouan (TVSC), Union (TVSU), and Carriacou (TGPZ). http://secure.simmar...renadines.phtml

Also, I don't think the mandatory scenery works properly in FSX (at least, I've never used it), so I recommend the PW Sceneries as a replacement. Here is their information:

Quote

PW Sceneries Volume 1 Grenada - The first in a series of scenery packages for the Caribbean. This pack covers the island of Grenada, featuring accurate coastlines, landclass, waterclass, roads with moving traffic, objects and even wildlife. Images, download link

PW Sceneries Volume 2 The Grenadines, St Vincent and Barbados -  The second in a series of scenery packages for the Caribbean. This pack covers the Grenadines (the small islands north of Grenada), St Vincent and Barbados, featuring accurate coastlines, landclass, waterclass, roads with moving traffic, objects and even wildlife. Images, download link.

PW Sceneries Volume 3 St Lucia and Martinique -  The third in a series of scenery packages for the Caribbean. This pack covers the islands of St Lucia and Martinique, featuring accurate coastlines, landclass, waterclass, roads with moving traffic, objects and even wildlife. Images, download link.

PW Sceneries Vol 4 Dominica and Guadeloupe - This volume covers the islands of Dominica and Guadeloupe and the surrounding islets in the eastern Caribbean. It features all-new accurate coastlines, landclass, waterclass, custom land polys, rivers, streams, roads with moving traffic, scenery objects and even wildlife! Images, download link.

I think I might end up flying my Twin Otter, at least for the first few legs.

And thanks for making the sig, Codey!

I'll probably come!

Maybe in the JS41, however if a STOL aircraft is needed then probably in the Twin Otter :hrmm:

Yeah, I think the Twotter will be needed. Some of those airports are very, very tiny.
