Hey guys, I whipped up a poll to see how many people think what.

I want to keep it short and easy.

Where is the, "I'll hold off on speculating until more than a pointless trailer is released" option?

I don't understand how anyone can come up with predictions based on nothing. :hrmm:

Said perfectly. :hrmm: All that has been released was some standard format press releases and a teaser that shows us absolutely nothing.  What is there to think about?

That's exactly what I did.  But I figured I'd ask anyway. :hrmm:

I'm keeping note of all the stuff people are saying now, saying that it'll be completely arcadey and not a sim... I'm waiting for my lulz when we see the game :hrmm:

Some people completely lost faith. There isn't a single indication whatsoever that MS is aiming the sim to be arcade-like, or at least more arcade than the previous Flight Simulator games were.
I also don't see any reason whatsoever how they could benefit making an arcade sim on PC where you fly GA.

Initially I thought that this would have been an arcade style game, but then i looked at MS's FSX trailer that they had earlier before the release. Not as "arcade" as MS Flight is, but you can see where I'm going here.... It was quite funny actually...

It'll be more like Test Drive Unlimited in a SOCIAL kind of way. But it will be based on the whole globe instead of one small island. So the comparison should not be based on location.

My feeling is it's something completely fresh and new.

Free roam around the world. Fly anywhere you want, using any type of plane. Play offline or online.

But in addition, I expect some races like Red Bull and Reno. Maybe a career mode and ability to create your own pilot/character.

Votes 1 and 2 are the most realistic. I'd say it's a mixture of 1, 2 and 3, except that it won't be located in one specific land. It will cover the entire planet.

Since they seem to talk about previous FS versions I think it will be mostly the same thing with maybe some additional aircraft and better scenery.

Being that it's coming from Microsoft to be sold to the general public I'm going with option #4.

Going with #1.

After having read the quote from the MS Flight website, I'm pretty sure the game will cater to experienced players more so than newer players.

It says:

Quote

“Microsoft Flight" will bring a new perspective to the long-standing genre, welcoming everyone, including long-time fans, to experience the magic of flight.
Now, whatever "a new perspective" means, I don't know. I hope they don't turn this into a H.A.W.X. type of arcade game.

I hope it will have a demo version so I can test if it works on my computer first.
FSX had a pretty interesting demo, it had the whole world but only a tiny area around St. Maarten was actually modeled and the rest of the globe was a black/strangely coloured whatever. :hrmm:

The FSX demo was the first indication of a game gone wrong, so I'm with you on that one niteye. I hope for a demo, too.
