Hi,
Does somebody know which font has been used for the old British Landor C/S?

I do believe it's not an 'off the shelf' font but one stylised for BA. There are probably a whole pile that are 'close'... just a matter of finding one. Mylius is the current BA font and is custom designed for them. I personally found the closest free fonts for the Landor lettering style were Optima bold or Zapf Humanist.

The font is likely an original design. Do you really think British Airways goes online and finds an openly available font to represent their multi-billion dollar company? :hrmm:

Couldn't you just use the logo?

It is the same font they use today; it is called "myriad" and it isn't free. It is a completely custom font designed for BA.

You may want to look at Optima Demi: http://www.fonts.com....htm?pid=202795

It is similar.

The Landor and current font have some quite clear differences :hrmm:

Mylius is the current font. The Landor font isn't Mylius.

Your correction was unrelated to the point I was making :hrmm:

It is very similar to Mylius. Looks like a thinner version.

I hear this from aircraft painters all the time. In the vast majority of cases, companies have their own unique font and style designed for their own exclusive marketing use.
