I was thinking about doing it and then I looked around a bit and noticed that there as a 2-3 year wait from finishing your school to when you actually start controlling..  the ATC shortage they where predicting never happened...

..but maybe with all these controllers falling asleep they'll hire more?

One of my friends that graduated a year ago with a degree in ATC was just selected for Florida.  He is waiting on his email to set up an interview with a manager in the area to get a recommendation.  He graduated 11 months ago, he wasn't over qualified he was just average.
