Captain, this DC3 is looking outstanding. I look forward to flying this for sure.
I'm curious, I notice that you are putting some nice textures in your aircraft for X-Plane. I like to be in the virtual cockpit and be able to "feel" the different metals and materials with my eyes. This is so well done in aircraft like PMDG's NGX and many FSX aircraft. I also notice that you are getting this level of texturing with your X-Plane aircraft.
I was wondering if you had any idea why some premium payware aircraft in X-Plane have such mundane looking textures. They look like they are unfinished. Is it harder to make these kind of textures in X-Plane than it is in FSX?
J. Rollon also gets this level of texturing with the CRJ200, but so many others fall short.

Putting it bluntly, most x plane developers lack the skills to texture properly, and they want to be "developers" at any cost.
Javier (JRollon) was a games developer for about 10 years for a very well known gaming company before he came to x plane. He specializes in 3D models and textures. Other developers take too many short cuts and in those cases, near enough is good enough for them.
I can't texture at all. That's why I work with a dev partner who does ONLY textures. We know each others work flow and that way, we cut our dev time in half, because when he textures my 3D models, I do all the gauge programming, external animations, flight model and type up the manuals. Texturing the DC-3 was a good 2 months worth of work. And that's from someone who knows what he's doing. If I did it myself, it would take me 4 times longer.

Bit of night lighting effects on scratched gauge glass.
It IS an old plane after all...

I love 3D analog gauges, you can actually see the depth of the gauge! Great stuff!

Whaoo sound good, love details. Continue to develop it.
Since FS98 each developper how do this plane, I buy it.
Ready to spend money.

I'm not a fan of older aircraft but this is outstanding work!
