Hi guys

So I re-install my FSX (after I format my HD) and I got this error message: MSXML4 SP 2 error. I tried to re-install again and again (total of 5 times) and I got the same error message. By the way I didn't have this issue in the past. I also tried to install MSXML4 first (from Google) and install FSX but to no avail.

I was wondering if you guys encountered this issue too? How did you go about fixing it? Apologies if I post on the wrong section.  :hrmm:

Hope you guys can help me with this coz I miss playing FSX.

After painfully searching via Google, I finally have this issue resolved! Yes! It took me couple of days to test and it finally work!
Seems like I'm not the only one having this issue and after reading a few articles and forums, this is actually a Microsoft issue.
For those who are experiencing this issue, here's the solution:

1) Go to Control Panel, then to 'Add or Remove Programs'. When the list
loads up, find anything related to "Microsoft MSXML 4.0", and uninstall
it.

2) Dowload 'msxml4-KB954430-enu.exe'
from the Microsoft site.

3) When it's downloaded, open the installer. Do not install directly;
first, click on Modify. On that screen, you'll notice the component
listed as "SDK" is not set to be installed. Click on it, and select the
first option. Now proceed with the install.

Thanx a LOT !!!
So it was this f****in SDK.
Thanks to MS error message that are always very meaningfull ...
I tried and your solution was the one. In fact I did not have "modify", but clicking on customize and checking the SDK which is deactivated by dedfault does the trick. ;)
Thanks a lot, you saved me time.
Bye!
