Order includes 40 firm CRJ900 NextGen aircraft and options for 30 more for operation by Delta Connection carriers
I guess this is why we're hiring like crazy, and close to 400 new pilots by the spring. With the rumors of growth, they are estimated that I may become a captain within a year. Rumor also has it our company is getting iPads in the spring too. But with the Delta TA, they do grow to 70 -900;s, they need t0 remove 140 CRJ-200's. Pinnacle has 140, so I see another airline going bye bye soon.

ASA, then SureJet, now ExpressJet. I fly the L-ASA (CRJ) side of the fence since we merge (bought) ExpressJet. Pinchanickle had 56 large RJ's. They will be down to 40 in May, as we take delivery of 12 of them and SkyWest gets 4. Pinnacle is in BK, and they have said that they are going to become a CRJ-200 only fleet. So they will all be going bye bye.

That explains why one of my buddies who used to fly for Mesaba (who got bought by Pinnacle) got demoted to the -200s.

To be honest, for the same salary, I'd be more interested in driving a Greyhound coach. There's one less dimension of travel to worry about (unless you plan on flooring it over speedbumps).

Nope. When I was flying commercially, it got to the point where it was no longer fun, and it became a job. To me, flying is about having the freedom to do what you want, when you want, where you want. You have a few more restrictions on pt. 135 (which is what I did) but I got bored during the cruise, I got tired of always hanging around FBO's all day or spending a lot of money on food and junk.
I can't work for Delta or any of it's partners anyways.. Delta hates me, they told Comair to fire me (I broke the rules so it's my fault anyways) but I'm pretty sure that I can't work for any Delta Connection carrier anyways since they all get Delta's benefits.
