Shalom and greetings all my pals,

WOW  what a display of serious muscle 1980 era style  at British airport!!!

Pan Am plane looks so small compared to other planes!!!

Wow  we have mighty DC-10s by Wardair, Air Florida, British Caledniaon (two), Laker (three in background), and one 747 by Braniff.  I cannot identify 747 airlines that have two red tails in background.

That is some serious muscle!!

It's a nice photo shot from a "historic" location, as the viewing terrace was closed in 2003. I like it.

Cactus is absolutely right that the famous viewing terrace is closed after tragic 9/11 for security reasons.  Historians said that this viewing terrace was absolutely amazing offering you gorgeous view of widebody planes.

Notice that Wardair DC-10's wing beacons were left on during docking at the gate. Was that standard??? And what was the truck connecting to the back of the Wardair plane for?

Hi Ahraon,
That's the port navigation light you're looking at. That's normal if the battery remains powered. The truck you point out is a lavatory service truck.
Cheers,
ian

Lockheed L1011-500 series which is longer range version of L1011 planes.  The -500 series has about 6,000 nmile range.

Hearing that question makes me feel old.
