Hi all,
Just send my laptop out for repair and it got me thinking. When I bought my laptop the seller did say that i'll be able to upgrade the RAM of my laptop, an Asus X301A (500gb hdd, 1.8ghz dual core and 4gb ram). As some programs are kinda slow, i formatted it and i want to upgrade it to 8gb of ram. I've found a good video on youtube showing a guy upgrading his Asus x501A laptop (same as mine but different specs). Now my brother tells me he looked it up and says I can't upgrade the ram of the laptop (says it isn't supported). Now I don't know who to believe. Before buying 8gb ram, how can one determine the maximum supported RAM of a laptop? I thought running windows 8 64bit would be good enough, but the motherboard has also its limitations it seems?
Thanks for the clarification
