American Airlines’ employees vote to keep the flag tail design on planes
The nature of the poll wasn't firm. Only 60% of employees voted, and the two choices were "finished flag tail design" and "unfinished dual-logo design" (which unfortunately, many people took seriously).
I cannot possibly explain how truly disappointed I am in this matter. It's just about enough to make me get up and pursue something other than this. I don't say this out of anger, I say this out of total disappointment. The American flag doesn't mean the same thing it used to. It's a different world, and, if it's on every single AA plane out there, it's not a world I want to be in, nor an airline I wish to work for. There are so many cost and timing restrictions this new design causes that it's not even funny. A widebody has to sit on the ground for at least 2 weeks for the tail paint to dry. Not practical or logical.
