Hi all,

I am a basic, but enthusiastic simmer. I use the autopilot in Cessna and other basic aircraft effectively, but I was using the Autopilot in a B737 recently and I was maintaining Altitude and Heading. I wondered whether there was a way of commanding the Autopilot to follow the Garmin navigation device or the flight director for the duration of the flight? Tell it to just follow the in built Navigation devices? This is because I had to periodically adjust the heading hold on the B737 to follow the route correctly.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

For anyone who is reading this thread, I found a solution online.

To maintain the altitude: Enter the altitude and click the ALT hold button
To maintain the speed: Enter the speed in knots, click IAS and click the SPD hold button
To maintain the heading: Enter the heading or use the heading bug and click the HDG hold button
To let the autopilot follow the flight plan: Make sure that a flight plan is filed pre-flight, make sure that the NAV/GPS switch is set to GPS and then click NAV hold button

Hope this helps for anyone who is reading this!
