I already have the PMDG 737 ( FSX) and it performs well on my system . Can I expect similar performance ( at like for like settings / airports etc) with the 777 ?

I like you started with the NGX 
Just bought the 777 a few weeks ago. It's very similar. Maybe 1-2 fps less but if the 737 runs well you won't have any issues with the 777
