I am fairly new to flight simulators, and have been wondering what would be best use of my money for beginning setup for Civilian aviation in FSX / X-plane environment. I have quick gaming PC already, so my wondering is mostly about controllers as there seems to be quite a few options. Another thing to consider are addons for FSX or X-plane that would be considered essential to make them look a bit nicer.
I am looking for tips for minimum setup that would get me going and would be easy to update in the future should I want it. My main interest is bushplanes and small to medium turbo props such as the amazing twin otter. I was never all that much of a Jet person, granted that changing in the future is not out of question either.
I would love to hear peoples recommendations, or alternatively just links to threads where this subject matter is discussed, as gear changes over time just as offerings for these flight sims I figured that new topic would get most up to date info.
