Since some people here asked for how I do the soft filters on the wide screens. Here it goes.

It's quite simple.

1. I resize the screengrab to 1204*900

2. Then I crop it to 1200*400

3. From 2 I create layer A by adding contrast and bringing brightness down

Posted Image

4. From 2 I create another layer B where I first add contrast, then blur it and finally add brightness to it

Posted Image

5. I add Layer A and B together to the following result

Posted Image

6. Finally I add some sharpness ... and I'm done !

Hope this helps .

In a compositing package it's easy to "add" the color values of 2 nodes.

You can even do it with layers in photoshop. Additive layers.

Add is used in compositing packages. I used shake. Don't know in photoshop. Must be possible there also with layers.
