Yep .... a designer can put dozens of those HAS around an airfield, and FS9 will still only have to draw 32 polygons.  NOT 32 polygons per HAS, 32 polygons total .... provided the designer is placing them with XML hardcoding via a Library Objects file.  (That designer would be ... um, er, ah, um ... oh, yeah!  ME since I'm the only one with the.sca file that has to be referenced in the XML so SCASM will compile it.   :P )

For example, if I were to rework Osan AB, Republic of Korea, I could place one of those HAS at every F-16 and A-10 parking spot, and FS9 would still only draw it once.  The helo hanger is a bit more complex and comes in at 96 polygons, but again -- using XML hardcoding via a Library Objects file, dozens of them can be on an airbase and FS9 will only draw 96 polygons once!!!!!   :D

WATCH THIS SPACE
More screenshots of additonal new/revised macros as they are reworked in preparation for publishing KPBG (Plattsburg AFB NY) and KPSM (Pease AFB NH).

Latest new macro:

A different generation of aircraft shelter, this is for bases that are NOT in forward, high-threat areas.  The purpose is similar to the Hardened Aircraft Shelter, except the degree of protection from attack is lessened.  It is also designed to take (taxi-in/out) any fighter, up to -- and including -- the F/FB-111 with wings fully swept.  Polygon count is only 24.

Looks great for another low(er) poly macro!  :D

Uh-huh .... and on this one, I figured out something else I can do to that Hardened Aircraft Shelter to reduce the polygons even further .... first was 84, revised is 32, and (if I do it right) the next edition of that macro may be down to 16 or 20 polys.   :D

One question:

Are these FSDS2 or gmax?

Okay, I said I had figured out a way to lower the polygon count even further, and here's the result.  Notice that the original HAS was 84 polygons and my revision was 32 polygons.  This one comes in at 16 polygons:

Munitions Storage Igloo v3 just finished .... v1 came in at 102 polygons, v2 came in at 54 polygons, and this one -- the final version -- is only 38 polygons:

They'll be used in my redesigns of existing airbases, and the re-opening of closed airbases (like Loring, Plattsburgh and Pease).  Any scenery designers who would like to use them -- PROVIDED they are designing ONLY for freeware, can contact me if they'd like to have them.

LOL!!!!!  What is this?  Suddenly everyone wants to be a beta tester?!?!?!?!!?

Seriously, I limit my designs to only four beta testers, and I've got four.  However, there are several scenery designers on FS2004.com, so just put your application in wherever you see someone talking about doing scenaries.   :D

As for the macros, thanks for the compliment.  Now that I've gotten familiar with XML hard-coding to place objects, I can get a bit more elaborate with some of the macros, since no matter how many times they appear in a design, FS9 only draws them once.  The reduction in framerate hits is DRAMATIC!!!!  Where I had a single macro at 156 polygons appearing four times (FS9 had to draw 156 x 4, or 624 polygons to just show that one macro four times), I can now have 13 macros for the same amount of polygons.
