Come on guys, you've had your fun, and messed with him long enough.  Let it go now.

He knows now it's not legal to profit by duplicating a copyrighted CD.  Isn't that right Zipline?

very... ummmm... humoorous thread... very funny :D said in it:D great read... and don't scare him... if the cd's are for your own use and just as a back-up incase of breaking/catching on fire;) it's fine to copy them.... no one would find out any way and if they did just light them on fire :o

I will admit, I download files on the internet, sometimes share programs, things like that.  However, you have to realize that it is NOT ILLEGAL in Canada to do so.  A lot of the american copyrights are bogus here, thats why these fines have only been given out in the states.

I use a fun program called Alcohol 120%, A virtual CD Drive.  One I install the programs from CD, I just throw the CDs onto my virtual drive, and wham!  don't need a CD!

Oh, and if you are wondering, I bought Fs2004 legit :o.

Just expressing my opionions :D

True that, we Canadians have it easier here, since I believe that the RIAA and MPAA can't extract user information out of Canadian ISPs (yet). But if they contact your ISP, your ISP still reserves the right to kick you off of their service. And i'm pretty sure it IS illegal to download music/etc. in Canada, it's just that it's not really enforceable yet. But don't expect that to last forever.  :D

Before you guys jumped on him, you should have considered that maybe he was copying the game to make a backup. I don't think he ever said that he was giving it away.

ya but on  the disks it says do not make illgal copys of this disk
read the EULA

as far as I know you may make copys for backup copy for yourself ONLY.

the disks are copy protected but CloneCD should make light work of that.

To avoid Scratching Disk 4 you can get a replacement FS9.EXE (444kb ish, from SimV) that elimintes the need for Disk 4.
