SquawkBox 3, the software used to communicate using voice on VATSIM, has now been released.  

For those who are flying over the North Atlantic, SB3 now includes Selcalls as well - it is said to be the only program needed to fly on VATSIM!

I've been following the developments there daily..Great news
WOW just looked at ServInfo.... 925 Pilots & ATC connected!!!
normaly its about 300..tops

I just opened servinfo and for the first time it lagged when opening.

I hate to be a n00b. I read the 'About' on that site. But on that screenshot up there - is that real aircraft, or online FS aircraft?

I just did my first flight with vatsim ZURICH-FRANKFURT...very nice and thanks to the entire group of controllers for putting up with me

It's been so long since I flew on VATSIM I can't even remember my credentials for logging in.  If v3 is a solid product though I might have to hop in sometime soon!

It's alooooot easier..  Just don't expect to be taking screenshots now..  The program runs within FS instead of in windows itself..  which saves on memory and cpu load..

Ahh, nice!  Good to hear they finally got it integrated!  Maybe a quick flight from here to Atlanta is in order.

Wow, I just started flying on VATSIM last night and it was awesome.  Did a nice flight into seattle, did some touch n goes, thanks to the atc and tower there.  For a second I thought i was flying in the real world its so realistic.

I used to always use Vatsim untill it started getting annoying so i stopped, but now SB3 is out its fantastic and ive just landed at Gatwick and i must admit that was one of the best flights ive ever done online, traffic the whole way, gatwick ground full of planes such as UAL, BAW, EZY, XLA it was terrific!
