Arron: Yes, Boeing is in Seattle WA, USA and Airbus is based in Toulouse-Blagnac, France.

If it is on Friday, that means it will be Thursday night here, and I doubt the news would care about this event! :D

it won't bend to the extent of scaring ordinary people lol  i doubt theyd realise :D

cant wait for its first flight though, im pretty sure itll take off and land with ease. my only concern is the taxiing which im hoping it can manage properly
No I think they will notice flex just like the tripple seven or the AN225  :P  prolly about a 10 ft diference there at the wing tip on the AN225!

On the wingbend test photo below, it looks like the wing can bend a lot.
Don't know if the picture was made, when the wing was loaded with over the  limits or just normal loads.

Think that will scare some ppl sitting on the lowerdeck, over the wing

This is a major event in aviation history.   If the media doesn't properly cover this story, I will be thoroughly disappointed with them.  :D

Now that's very interesting. That looks like some serious bending.

It will definiltely scare some passengers sitting next to the window. I was very scared to see the wings bending on the A340 when I was a 12 years old. And those bended quite a lot. Can't wait to see it on this giant.

As it's the A380's very first flight i'd emagine that it's going to be pretty well coverd by news channels etc. And it's more than obviously that it's going to fly!, you may think what monkey would say that before it leaves the ground?!. I do because Flex test the wings (pictures above) untill they snap in half. And then this gives then rough figures of weight to work around for mainden flight. But in saying this this A380's going to be filled with flight test equipment, not 100's of passenger + there luggage. :D

An Airbus executive came out today and stated that the 380 will not be flying on friday, and not before next monday. Even though bad weather is scheduled for almost everyday this week in Toulouse.
