Woo! I have something at last!

This is a VERY EARLY beta and has pretty much all of the airport buildings to finish. This is just really to test whether everyone else can run the extended runway and redone heightmap.

If you find something that isn't right, post it here :D

Problems I am aware of:

Most of the buildings missing or in the wrong place ( :D )
Terminal not textured
Apron texture not done
AI may not land correctly
BIG holes in the heightmap towards the north or the airport

As I said, this is mainly to test the runway and surrounding area.

Remember to read the readme as you need to alter a bit of default scenery.

Crap, I may have exceeded my bandwidth... if it doesn't download thats probably why.

Does anyone know anywhere where I can host about 4 1/2 megs?

Did you read the readme properly? Theres a couple of default sceneries you need to disable.

Ok, after playing around with it for a while there are only a couple things wrong with it.
At both ends of the runway, at the water, the water goes up with the land. Another minor thing is i found a 2D collumn...

Yeah, I've caught that 2D pillar one :D

Can you do a screenshot of the water? Also, are you running the patch for FS, as this lets you use slightly more detailed heightmaps, which should get rid of this, but requires you tweak your FS9.cfg (I'll have to put that in the readme).

If you are runnung the patch, and haven't done it yet, try opening your FS9.cfg and changing TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL= to 21. This will let you run the more detailed heightmaps.

Yeah, I've not got that far yet. The new runway texture will eventually extend all the way down, and it will have a full complement of signs, etc.

Chris, don't make the threshold full of dirt. :D The begining/end of the rnuway should have the most dirt and the middle should have the less. :D

:D

That texture was drawn from a photo of the actual runway on airliners.net...

I've been experimenting with putting tyre marks at the threshold, but as I've said, I suck at texturing..
