Hello everyone.

I am currently creating a full model of the 2002 Enzo Ferrari for FS2004 ACOF. It's a car addon that has been under development for about two years and it is almost finished. I have already released the Beta version of the addon at SimViation and at AvSim. The updated package will be complete before the end of August and then released on SimViation, AvSim, FlightSim, and FS2004.

The new package also includes [but not limited to]:
1. various color schemes and paint schemes [some representing real-life cars]
2. new wallpaper of the addon
3. improved driver and car model
4. reworked textures and dynamics

I am making ground vehicle addons because I have realized that my skills are better suited for such development. It is also because I wanna help the FS series become more flexible and help FS users utilize as much of the FS world as possible. Of course, many of you have seen how Seatle, Manhattan, or Stuttgard [can't spell] looks from the sky. Now you can see how it looks from the ground. This new and growing hobby is also in response to the now-growing number of detailed sceneries that have become more and more complex and life-like.

This hobby might also one day serve some use in the VA world [ie: online user drives a load of cargo across tarmac to another online user who is waiting in his assigned cargo jet].

Remember the motto: "As Real As it Gets"

EDIT: I am also receiving help from an expert who knows a lot about aircraft.cfg modifications.

I'm extremely pleased to hear about the development of the Ferrari for Flight Simulator.  :D   I agree with you completely about making vehicles in which one can explore the world of FS from the ground in addition to the air.

FS is really becoming highly detailed on the ground with the massive proliferation of available addon sceneries.  Many of these scenery details are best appreciated at ground level. Thanks for providing us with vehicles we can use in FS that allow us to do just that.   I love the vehicles that you've made so far and am looking forward to seeing the Enzo completed as well.  :D

Thanks again, and best of luck in reaching your goal, we are with you 100%.  :D

It looks awesome, however work on the textures :D, Give the rims some alpha, or try and find some-sort of metal look.

Maybe give the body some sort of texture instead of a plain-colour (Thats what it looks like anyway).

To clarify a few things:

Manny of the features for the Ferrari had to be completely reworked. The textures had to be remade from scratch and are more organized and properly laid out for professional editing.

The Sound files and setup are now in place and are working properly in FS9. I have used real car sounds that were downloaded from a site that offered a mariad of sound sets for any developer. The driver now has textures as well as a nice face. The rims have alphas applied. The rim texture will be separate from the rest of the other texture sets to allow more flexible repaints [in case you like matching rims].

Gauges are my main issue. I can't seem to find someone who can create custom gauges for a Ferrari. The panel is ready, it's the gauges that worry me. I have FS Panel Studio, but I have no knowledge on XML gauges. I tried making one myself, but NO success.

The model has been resized for an accurate scale when parked near an aircraft or other references. Turns out my feet-to-meter conversions were signifigantly off. I have also solved the issue regarding the Aircraft Preview Window in the Select Aircraft menu [it finally shows up].

As for the dynamics, the car finally handles like it should be in real life. Thanks to a friend of mine who knows a lot about modifying the Aircraft.cfg. When I do turns, I slow to 40KIAS and rev up a little as I complete a turn so that the car can stabilize at the end of the turn. The car also brakes much more better without jumping too much. It turns quicker as you apply differential brakes.

These are the size that I go to for gathering resources are car development:

I use:

Paint Shop Pro 9
MP3 Maker Pro
DXTBmp
FS Panel Studio
FS Sound Studio

As you can see, there is a ton of sites out there that offer so much but are used so little often. It's amazing to see such great sites that are not-so-commonly used.

I made a promise back in SimViation that I'm not going to post any sceenies of the addon until the release, but for some reason I'm getting jittery and irritated about that. So I'll start posting some screenies soon enough. I'll inform SimV about this.
