Captain Sim is pleased to announce that the successive beta testing stage of the 'Legendary Herk' expansion for MSFS 2004 is over. Highly professional Beta team reports the C-130 overall impression is VERY positive, some of them call it 'awesome piece of art!' – ‘the Visual Model is fantastic and the level of systems detail when completed will be unparalleled, texturing appears superb, the flight model is very realistic - the airplane is very nice to fly and easy to handle with no bad habits'.

However there are several issues that still need fixing. We keep doing our best to polish everything up and release Beta 2 version as soon as possible. Obviously, the final release will be out in a certain period of time.

But the point is, many of the Beta issues are already addressed, the other issues are cosmetic and not critical for average customer.

So currently we have two options:

1. To continue scheduled development and testing in closed Beta sessions
OR
2. To release next version of the C-130 as a 'Technical Release' available to general public at the full price.

First of all, we would like to know your opinion, please take a part in the following poll:

- Yes, I'd buy the technical release copy.

- No, I'd wait for the final release product.

For more details please visit http://www.captainsim.com.

Excellent idea to include your customers in this decision!  You might also considering adding a poll to this topic.

Depends on the bugs, IMO Keep it until its bug-free, Having a Buggy release will give it a Buggy Name for life, or, at least for a very long time, It does not make users happy, even if you warn them its just a 'technical' release.

Reviews would probably be done with the bugs in place. In the end there would be too much confusion IMO.

Beta testing is a very Important part of development :D.

Dear flightsimmers,

Thanks for your input and kind words, very appreciated.  :D

The current resulst of the poll are available realtime 24/7 at: http://www.captainsi...m/user/wap.html

The main point of the poll is to hear the community opinion. So, please do not consider the poll as a sign of approaching Technical Release. Captain Sim's default option is #1 (To continue scheduled development and testing in closed Beta sessions). And we'll switch for option #2 only if more than 80% of the poll respondents vote for that.

Now I feel VERY let down!!

You have built up my hopes of maybe  being able to get the "technical release copy" After many months of waiting.

However now you are indicating the poll results must be higher then 80% before you would consider selling the "technical release copy" The pole numbers clearly indicate that the majority of respondents DO want the technical release copy"
I think 80% is a very unrealistic expectation!

Why not sell the "technical release copy" to anyone that wants to pay for it as is??

Anyway that is my opinion and I hope that you will reconsider your decision and release  the program to anyone want to pay for it now!

LarryP, The Majority of people that will complain from a Technical release wouldn't be aware of It, And Probably wouldn't visit Captain Sim's Website/Forum Often.

Folks,

Read Dolbinau's comments.

Very wise indeed  :D

Don't even think about blotting the copy book before the novel is complete  :D
