Both VATSIM & IVAO are great, I never tried em but I have an idea from some friends I saw em playing .

Joining as an ATc has a totally different experience than as a pilot, both are great and both are fun to do , so if you wanna join I'd recommend that you go for it :D

thanks for the explanation, well ive heard more people combplaining about how to fly on vatsim then on ivao  :D  anyway, when u are a europe freak or u live in one of the european time zones i highly recommend IVAO mostly there are around the 500 people online on IVAO @ european times, for VATSIM this is 200 (check serv info if u don't believe it) i both control and fly on IVAO. and i need to say that IVAC and IVAP mork much better and are much more easyer then SQbox3 and ASCR or whatever they might use on VATSIM

Hah, back up your stuff.

IVAO is great if you fly in Europe. Flying on IVAO is good for beginners, the ATC help you out and are patient. There are many programs for IVAO aswel. IVAP is the pilot client, you just need to install this and some of the MDL files of your choice (you also need TS). IVAE is the Servinfo for IVAP, it shows the whole world were all the ATC and aircraft are, it also has alot more features. There is IVAC is you want to be ATC, a plus with IVAO, is you don't have to take any test to ATC until you get to S3. The is a program were you can use IVAC and run FS2004 as a tower so you can see the aircraft landing aswel as seeing them a dots.

VATSIM is more around the US, but is alot stricter. I havn't used VATSIM that much. But I have tried SB3, and I didn't really like it (but then again, thats my opinion. I have heard storys of the ATC beeing rather imapatient, so you might get easily offened.

Both are very good groups, both striving for realism.

VATSIM all the way!

VATSIM may be strict -- but if you love realism and professional service, then go VATSIM.

Yea, VATSIM is way more realistic, IVAO is ######. They have crappy software, The ATC Client is crap, The Pilot Client is crap and its hard to learn. And also whatever that ###### up place is called, I think Eskyworld, That is deep ######, NEVER join there.

HAH! That bull shlt all the way!

I take it you have never even used IVAO or any of its software.

Anyways,
To join IVAO go here... http://www.ivao.org/...on/register.htm

Then if you want to be a pilot get...
http://www.ivao.org/.../IvAp_downl.asp
(Download all of the stuff there!)

and

http://www.goteamspe...m/downloads.php
(Get "Teamspeak 2 Win32 Client (RC2)")

If you want to ATC, get...
http://www.ivao.org/...Ac/download.htm
You will need to find sector files for what ever area your contolling.

And to view the planes and ATC go here...
http://www.ivao.org/...Ae/download.htm

And before you fly or ATC. Have a very good read through the intruction pack!
http://www.ivao.org/.../Start_Here.htm

i think IVAP with a couple of buttons is way more easyer then SB3 with a whole menu that u prob won't be using while flying and it takes more fps since it had so many in it...

I sure have used there software, And I also hate the fact that you have to use Teamspeak to use voice, SB3 Has an intergrated voice system, Much easier. And also when I was dumb enough to use IVAO to control I was never trained in any way at all, I read a packet and just got online somehwere. It took about 4 weeks to get an email that shows how you can get a mentor (I doubt there are any, The place seems like a ghost town when I connect). Not my favorite place to go, Thats why I use VATSIM.

FYI, there are plenty of instructors, and they way you learn on IVAO, is to read the manual. That should tell you what to do, also ask other controllers to help you.

The reason it seems like a ghost town is probably that you connected and you did a flight in the US, which is a ghost town, all the action is in Europe.

exacly my point.

the only reasaon why VATSIM looks like the winner is cause there are more american people on this forum. VATSIM and IVAO are equal...
