Roniish,

I originally started this thread stating that the 81.85 at that time was the best driver for the 7800 series.  Why?

1.  No more black aircraft preview screen.  However, others are complaining about it.
2.  My aircraft gauges no longer flickered in window mode.
3.  Overall, the picture quality seemed better.

Discussing this with Esuvee, I started to notice some odd graphical glitches that he picked up from the beginning when the drivers were first installed.  I rolled back to the 78.03 drivers.  I can't say that I am pleased with these drivers.

However, I think I am going to try XG 81.85.v2 drivers that Kevinti is suggesting.  I noticed some of his settings are different then mine in the Nvidia settings and I am going to give it a whirl.

Sometimes I am not always the best at suggesting drivers.  My reasons are different to switch drivers then most on this website.  For one, I have a powerful computer and do not suffer from low FPS.  My gripes are image quality and trying to eliminate graphical glitches I see.

Guys,

No matter how fast and latest is your card, IMHO, never set the all the fs9 setting to its MAX! :)

That's why with my 6800GT (not the fastest card of coz), I'd never set all to max. There is always a bottomneck if everything is at its max setting!

For XG driver in particular, the IQ of Quality and Performance on fs9 doesn't really make any different with my naked eyes. But setting it to Performance would probadly give you a better frames than Quality mode, logically  :D

Do remember, if you have a good LCD with fast Respond Time (Not applicanle to CRT), turn ON the V. Sync and Tripple Buffering, it really helps the framerate and thus smoothness in fs9!

Last but not least, my suggestion is base on my machine and card stated in my sig. So, result may vary for you. But again, xg8185.v2 should be giving you minimum negative effect if there is any!

No harm trying, and as I said, XG driver is always the best for fs9 as far as I'm concerned!

Cheers!  :D

Well I have installed the 79.11 drivers and now have next to no shimmering ! Fantastic.

Frames are locked at 30 and hardly stray although I still have the black preview screen when AA is at x8AS

So, you got the WOW factor from 79.11! Good for you!  :D

I tried it on my 6800GT but to nothing particularly better than Xg81.85.v2  :D

Link please to the driver.  I would not mind testing this one as well.

Let me know how those drives turn out :D

As for the black screen, im running the 79.03 and I find that regardless, the black screen will appear when I am on full-screen prior to window enabled.

FW 81.87 Beta is out and has been receiving positive feedback! :)

I'm test running it now, and it atcually scored the highest ever 3dmakr05 on my 6800GT!  :D  Can't beleive it! . . . and everything seems good including fs9 for me!

FYI, the 79.11 gave me crap on my 6800GT!  :D

Ok guys, tested and tried XG 81.87.v2.

Taking into consideration the nature of fs9 game, the 3DMark03 scored 377 points higher than the stock FW 81.87 Beta!  :D

The other 2 benchmarks of Aquamark3 and 3dMark05 are lower than the stock FW 81.87 Beta!  :D

Thus, obviously, XG 81.87.v2 is better for fs9 base on 3DMark03's higher score!  :)

Anyway, no fix for that Blackie!  :)

Just as a heads up, the 81.85's have become WHQL and are on Nvidia's site.
