KABQ AVSIM
I just got a scenery for KABQ in AVSIM and the rwy texture are not there. It seems as the texture for the rwy is the photoreal texture and I don't like it. Is there a way to change it or the rwy texture on it? Or am I SOL?

It depends how the scenery is put together. If the author has split each part into sepearate bgls, then you can delete the bgl that is the runway, and it will revert to using the AFCAD produced runway texture. If they are all in one bgl, or the bgl with the runway in also has other scenery parts in it, then your only option is to edit the runway textures they have used yourself to something more pleasing.

Put a new zip file in the folder and move them into it 1 at a time t figure it out.

Unless there is like 50 of them.

Yeah - unless theres one called runway.bgl or something, its just trial and error until you finmd the right one. As pip says, the best is to just move them out of the folder one at a time (or in bunches of 5 or so), and see what disappears when you run FS.

That's the AFCAD file. Its not the photoreal runway.

If those parts are included in the same bgl as the runway model then theres not a lot you can do. If you delete them both the runway and the terminal go if they are in the same bgl.

You could try loading the runway textures it uses into DXTBmp, exporting them as 24 bit textures and editing them in a paint package until you have something that looks better.

Nah, that wouldn't work. AFCAD data will always appear *under* any scenery you have, due to the drawing order FS uses.

Well can I find the testures and replace them with RWY testures by remaming them?

The runway textures will be in the textures folder in folder you added when you installed the scenery. You can replace these with ones you like better, but you can't just replace any runway texture, as the author of the scenery may have applied them in a different shape to other sceneries. Its best to find the runway texture it uses and open it with DXTBmp to see what it looks like.

I don't think they added RWY textures to the files as I cannot find them.....I believe they just used the Photoreal RWY and put the numbers and lines above it.... Is there any way to just use the terminal withouth having the old one in place?

If they're part of the same bgl, then no.
