Hmmmm .... that must be what the "lesser detailed" airports look like.  Doesn't look like there was ANY attempt to merge the airport terrain with the surrounding terrain; they just "laid" it over the top.  Plowed plots suddenly interrupted by a swath of greenery, tree plots sliced by the airport terrain covering ...... The difference between the "lesser detailed" airports and the "high detailed" airports is TREMENDOUS.

And from the looks of it, it's "footprinted" so, even if the terrain can be replaced with something that merges better, that footprint outline is still going to show up in the modification.

Haha   that's a good one. Everthing that I have seen so far proves otherwise. Of course there are going to be low quality airports, they can't detail all 24,000. The mesh and scenery alone is incredible imho.

That would worry me more if I did more ga flying. I like to fly the heavy metal more and with the awesome fsx scenery it is going to be mind blowing. Then when the DX10 patch is made available   .

Like I said, the detail is better, but it still bears the stamp "SLOPPY and HAPHAZARD".  When you lay the carpet in your living room, you can trim it and match it to the baseboards, or just roll it out and let it lie where it will.  One is "attention to detail" (aka Quality) and the other is "hey, it's better than bare concrete" (aka Close Enough).
