My favorite payware from over a dozen I have

Cons:

Very unique flight characteristics that can bite you

Cannot beleive no one has reviewed this wonderful plane. Nice panels,VR and sounds. You really stick out at the airport in this rocket and the view from the captains seat is impressive. What other passenger plane can get you to Mach 2 at 55 thousand? This plane has very unique flight characteristics and is tricky but fullfilling to learn. You must carefully plan ahead your decents and use some "tricks" to get around the dumb fs2004 controllers. What I do is I respond to a controllers handoff and then do my climb, cruise and decent and only contact them once I am at a reasonable altitude. Otherwise, climbing out or coming down from 50000 is broken up and done in steps and not very realistic. Overall, this is my current favorite of over a dozen planes I paid for. Its well done, unique and a challenge to fly.

Pros:
|
Cockpit, aircraft, EFFECTS, too many to name
|
Cons:
|
Frame rates as with almost all other PSS products are quite lousy except the A320 series

Just started flying this bird about a week ago. Got addicted to it and am still trying to figure out some of its vital systems. Did several flights with it. Go to http://forums.sgmoa.com/viewtopic.php?t=641 to see a flight on it I did from Kathmandu to Dubai on an Emirates Repaint COncorde.

I would recommend you running this game on a 3Ghz plus Pentium 4 and above with a powerful graphics card and at least 512 MB of operating RAM although that is probably not enough due to the frame rate problems.
The cockpit instruments are really nice and the VSI even flickers when you go past the sound barrier like on the real plane. Something I do not see on my other supersonic planes like the SR 71 and F16s.
Hope you like it.

LWY

Phoenix Simulation Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde
This brilliant payware addon marks the only better-than-average commercial supersonic aircraft addon for Flight Simulator 2004.
The Phoenix Concorde experience starts when you fire up the aircraft after installation. You are greeted with an exceptional cockpit - the most detailed I have seen in such an addon. And it's not only a 2D Front View - you are given several shortcuts to an Overhead view, and the views of the First Officer, Flight Engineer etc.
The Virtual Cockpit is also extremely substantial. From both cockpits you can see many effects - such as if you lower the nosecone, it's not just in Spot View that you can see the action. You can see it lower through the several cockpit windows.
When you move to the external views, you are blown away by a brilliant model. Every part is detailed - every effect available. At the end of the runway, you power up... a custom soundset makes you feelk like you are really there. At full throttle, the 4 engines scream, slowly activating the afterburners.
The Concorde runs down the runway and rotates with ease. The climb is as easy as flying a 747, although not as smooth. The autopilot is set... and you're at FL550 in no time. The speed is just unbelievable - on a flight from London to New York, I personally experienced the sheer power and grandeur of the aircraft.
The descent and landing is well controlled. A sensitive pilot input system ensures that any movements on the joystick will result in an immediate change in direction for the plane. The throttle is very responsible for those last minute inputs, too.
The landing is relatively easy, as well. The flare is harder, but a smooth landing is not too hard.
The Phoenix Concorde comes with the older and newer colour schemes of British Airways and Air France.
All up, this is a fantastic product that I would recommend greatly to anyone looking for a decent model of the Concorde - if they are willing to pay.

Excellent FPS, Great panel, cheap.
|
Cons:
|
Model tradeoff, but I love the frames.

Excellent value for money, the PSS Concorde is a great, cheap, FPS-light alternative to the Koch Media/SSTsim Concorde. Of course you have to accept the compromise.
