I know how we can stop this! Assasinate the Delta and US Airways CEOs and take the airlines into our control.

 As long as a major hub is still in Charlotte, YAY!  But seriously US airways already took over American West.  I still see American West paintings on there Aircraft here in Charlotte.  Anyway USairways service is better than anyothers that I have flown on (I fly, usually on 6-12 flights per year, sometimes more!!).  USairways, has aloways been one of the more expensive airlines, but constanly the best.

I think all the people who work for those airlines would tend to disagree with you.
Duh, without those airline who are they to work for? And all the other airlines probably don't pay them as much.

Awesome list, i agree with it 100%

My top choices are SWA & UAL, they NEED to not merge(i hope they never do  :D )
I would prefer Delta not merge, i think US Airways is trying to take over the world, buying out all these companies

I HATE US Airways  :o Their planes are dirty & ugly and the service isn't that great (Ive never been on one of their intl. flights, only domestic). I think the world would still live w/o US Airways  :o

-Chris-

PS. Yoko, TED is not really a seperate airline, its pretty set up the same as UALX, UAL made TED, therefor it is not really a single airline (am i correct? If not you can correct me  :P )

The world would live without Delta too. The world went on fine when Pan Am, Eastern, and TWA went under...

I don't see why you all are making such a huge deal out of this...

And whats with you all naming off airlines that you don't want to be in business? Did they do personal harm or something to you? Pretty immature.

Ok rant done...maybe.

What would the new airline be called?

It would be Delta Air Lines. The Delta Air Lines brand is a very, very powerful one worldwide. As we evaluated the America West/US Airways name, we commissioned a major, well-known polling firm to conduct a survey with travelers from around the nation. Several strong themes emerged from this study, including the fact that Southwest Airlines has the strongest airline name brand, followed by American, Delta, and United, and that everyone else lags behind. The US Airways brand was chosen over America West largely because many more consumers recognized it.

While many people don't like AirTran because of their former ValuJet name, they are still a very good airline, we can keep them.

ATA is doing quite well after emerging from Chapter 11. Plus, a lot of good that airline has done the country, with charter flights for military troops. They're growing again but very slowly.

I personally like both those airlines. They can stay in my books.
