I understand.  Hard to take a good, non liberal stance on this one.  I think it's more based on where we live than anything.  Oh well

Polls are inherently misleading
It depends how the poll is conducted. In this case, it was a very wide sample, on behalf of an unbiased third party, Skytrax. Over 12 million people were surveyed.

It has absolutely nothing to do with CNN at all

This should be pinned in the Aviation forums TBH. We are trying to save an airline, this is important stuff.

Once again, if you even bother to read anything about the merge proposition, it states that they would remain sepreate entities with one owner... The Delta name would still exist.....

Even if thats not the case, I hope US Airways goes through with the buyout process, Delta is one of THE worst airlines in the US. And has no comparo in on time %s when compared to jetBlue for example, Delta is a mess as a whole and imo the only way they will emerge from there current Chapter 11 state is with the US Airways buyout...

I don't see American or United on that list!!!

CNN must be stupid or just ######!

Because the service is lousy! Despite the fact that coach in American has 4 feet more leg room then delta. However, Cathay, Singapore, and ANA have better service, and the  legroom. I doubt most of you have been on all of those Asian airlines (I sure haven't) so you really cant judge your opinion on which airlines are better.

Watch yourself son!  SY should be here to stay.  One of the best in the airlines in the air, and they provide an alternative to the red swarm at MSP.

A merger won't happen unless Delta gives the green light for it. As it stands, the "Keep Delta My Delta" (sounds like some kind of poem) link is on the DELTA AIRLINES WEBSITE. Delta employees are against the merger. US Airways can try all they want to take Delta, but it's a decision Delta will make, not US Airways.

Obviously things would be different if Delta were liquidating its assets, such as if it had completely failed and shut down following a bankruptcy, but right now that isn't the case.

Delta's OK. Better to be on a Delta widebody than a Delta narrowbody. I haven't been on US Airways but I heard they aren't too good. Plus they are EXPENSIVE. United's the best I've experienced.
