$2700?! Wow :o Still a lot cheaper than Alienware or Voodoo, though. Is there any point in buying a rig like this from them?

50 degrees C seems really hot for a P4. When I o/c'd mine, I only got up to about 40 under load before things started crashing.

40c! LOL  Maybee an old willamette P4 1.4 hehe.

If it is crashing at 40c then there is something wrong.  Did you add voltage? Is your memory being overclocked too?  You have your PCI/AGP locked at 66/33?  Maybee your memory timings are too fast?

keep in mind thats just not cooling my CPU, its cooling the CPU and GPU.  And when the other radiator gets put it the temps will go down back to the norms.

...I am on a new system I just built right now.  It is a 2.4c with the stock heatsink in a 4u Antec rackmount case with plenty of fans humming away.  It is sitting in the basement where it is about 65 degress F, and the Idle temp on the cpu is 45c :o

Thats about right, my P4 2.8C is sitting in a 75 degree room and temps are 47/59c. I'm just using fans. 5 80MM and one 120mm. It ran 10 degrees hotter before I got the airflow right.

I have just got a standard 512MB stick of unbranded DDR400 in there, so possibly it's a memory problem. I'm gonna get some Corsair low-latency DDR466 Twinx in a few weeks, so I'll see if I can push it a bit further then. What do you think?

Just be careful over 65 C with a P4. My friend got rid of his 3.0 at this temp... ;-)))

Hmmm, my Athlon XP 1900+ runs idle at about 55c with a case temp of 43c and room temp of about 25ish. Never gets over 60c no matter what though.

Out of curisity (sp), how much was the water kit? excluding the hoses? and have you thought to put a fan behind the radior? (it may add a little bit of noise... bit it should drop your temp a bit.)

I think I paid $230 for the "kit" and then 50$ for a GPU waterblock.  Hose is cheap less then 5$  That was when Innovatek just hit the USA market, and now they got an awesome kit for $300.

There is fans on the radiators, you can't see them case they are mounted between the case and radiators.
