It's a thumbnail. When you click on the pic you load a full size pic !

I'm 100% sure that most of the 56k user don't load the whole contest...

I meant not to have it only as a zip file but to have the zip file as an option, because i would prefer to download a zip file with all the shots rather than sit here an wait for them to load.

Like, the people on broadband they can get it to load quick, an the people on 56k can either sit there an put up with slow loading, or your idea with the smaller pictures, or as an option we could have a zip file to download in a Adobe Acrobat file or something...just a suggestion.

A JPEG image file is already compressed; zipping it won't make much difference.

Yes i'm well aware of that, but i would prefer downloading them all at once instead of waitin for each individual one to load which takes ages.

I tried to compress 15 of my 800 x 600 pics with a size of 2,62 MB further (in normal mode).
Rar -> 2,62 MB
Zip -> 2,61 MB
No difference here...

Yes, zip would take just as long to download I'm afraid.  I do like the thumbnail list idea, just not sure how easy that would be to implement.  The forum's built-in resizing feature only resizes to 604x484, so a custom job would be required (to allow smaller resizes and multiple resized images in one post).  I like the idea, but it depends on how much time it would take to write - we'll put it on our "future upgrade ideas" list though and give it some more thought.

the future upgrade list... hmmm  theres like 1200 ideas on that right now am i wrong?  lol

first point, im on 56k and i don't mind waiting for the pics to load full size, we have to load them up to their original size anyway why prolong the process with thumbnails when they load up as soon as you open the thread?

Second point, since prizes have been introduced for this i too stopped posting pics as A: i'm not good enough to compete against some of you, and B: it takes away some of the fun as it becomes serious.
Keeping the prizes secret is a good idea though.

Thirdly, very good pics this month and my vote goes to 19, love that scenery ( where is it from/download/buy )

Yep, there are a ton.   We're knocking them out as we have time, but keep those ideas coming.

That's up to Anthony (KEWR_RWY_29) - usually middle of the month though.   You could always get a shot ready now though.
