To me, it's a way of silently saying to people "HEY! I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL AND I'M GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE!" :hilarious:

Do you see high school drop-outs with a ring? I think not.

-Just my way of thinking of it.

I'm sure the "drop-out" rate in the UK is probably lower than in America and you don't see us handing out silly little rings.

tell me one bad thing about getting a ring. if you don't want one, fine, but no reason to try to insult us for getting them.

I couldn't agree more.

And I hate to say it...but they look...odd...like, not very modern/sophisticated/clean cut etc. etc.

lol if you class that as an insult then well, LOL.

Heres a few reasons I can think of, to me they look cheap, tacky and naff also they're shockingly sterotypical of how the UK and other countries perceive US high schools ala 'high school musical' and 'grease' and the other million films based on the goings on in US high schools, and to me it seems a pointless thing to get, a rubbish looking ring...

Oh and who decided that getting a ring for going to school was a good idea!! Its really not. :censored:

Just about every American high school gives out these "graduation rings" (or "class rings").

Why this is new to you guys? I haven't the slightest idea.

Mods, feel free to lock this one. It's veered way off course.
