This looks great. Could we get a screenshot of the ground textures from high altitude? Say from 30 000 feet?

All in good time Granulf,

Right now we are still in early stages of development. As soon as there is enough meat on the bones we'll show some altitude shots but that will be a few weeks away at best. I will post though as soon as we've got something.

Wow! It's amazing how low you can go and still maintain a pseudo-3D effect. Those hires textures really make the difference.

Really promising work , Peter.

I would be interested to know whether you have divided Europe into zones , and which ones? I mean Greece and Spain will not have the same samples as The Netherlands and Denmark , right?

Hi....I see shadows.I assume they won't move with the sun's position,right?  How about an overcast day? Or a 12 noon sunny day?   :lol:

I'm wondering if bump-mapping can be implemented, it would make the experience much more enjoyable imo

We have been working on SHD textures since release of Flight Environment X in September last year as can be verified by numerous people so really that is not the case.
