Peter, a FS9 question. Do you intend to use 4096 sized cloud textures with FS9 or at least as optional like in FSX?

FS9 only supports textures up to a tiny 256x256 and I'm affraid it's in the dark ages now.

Peter

Which sizes are the current FEX then?

Peter you do know FS9 is used by a lot more simmers than FSX is? Simply producing ground-textures and Cloud textures for FSX is restricting your Market quite considerably.

fs9 can display textures much higher then 256X256.

My tree textures alone are 1024X1024

I have many other textures - plane and ground and airport textures that are higher then 256X256

Thanks.

Not ground textures it can't. Max resolution of ground textures for FS9 is 256x256 and trust me I know. I did Ground Environment and we wanted to go higher res but could not.

Current FEX is 1024 max but we are going to 4096 real soon.  Free update.

We will make a version for FS9 though higher res clouds do not perform so well in FS9 as they do in FSX. Also, what looks good in FSX does not look the same in fS9 so all the clouds would need carefull remastering yet again but it is on our radar.

Peter:

Have you done any more ground textures besides ground environment and these new ones of course?

I'm always looking for more original and realistic textures for fs9.

Thanks.

we may make some new stuff for FS9 but really gE pro is as good as it gets right now. I'm proud of what we did with GE Pro

Nice, Peter can I see some shots from high altitude? Say 33,000 feet. Being someone who flies more Scheduled Flight I'd like to see what those textures look like high above.

All in good time Noble.

We will show high altitude shots when the time is right and we are nearer to completion of the region.

I've been asked before to show from FL330 and we gave the same reply then. Right now we have not covered enough area to be sure it will show an honest representation of how it will look and too much right now is broken until we are ready to show a full deck of cards. You'll have to be patient for at least a few more months before we are ready to show altitude shots.

UPDATE: I may be able to do this sooner than later as we've got a fair amount done now over England. I maybe able to show you this within a few weeks and will do my best.

I gotta tell Peter, you are setting a huge bar with these ground textures.

I don't really like the ground textures.

The look OK from a top-down view -- but then at an angle, they look horrible because they're just a flat photo. The perspective doesn't work at all
