Hey Guys

I've decided to try and make my own BBJ. I'm not yet sure what program to buy for the modelling yet, as this is where I will need your advice. Any tips on which is the best program and easiest to use for FS2004 modelling would be a great help.

Moving on.

I have been ask to enlist some of the features that we hope to include in our BBJ products if we ever get there. (Fingers Crossed) A few, if not all of these features are.

Realistic WingflexVery accurately & detailed model.
High detailed interior, including a full walk around of the interior.
Seperate control panel, for operating doors, built in airstairs, adding APU and GPU.Minimum Loading of FPS.
Built in FMC
Highly detailed cockpit and perhaps a virtual cockpit with gauges. Overhead etc included.
A few cars that come with the package for added realism.
A pushback tug, with views from the drivers side, fully operational.
Winglets & Non winglets version included.
Loads of Business Jet repaints.
Engine Covers.
Parking chalks etc.
Fully Animated Nose gear & Independant Suspension.

This is just very little of what we hope to develop.

You may be thinking, wow this is great but what about the price, or is it freeware? - I have decided that BETA test spaces will be reserved (apps will be out soon) and the BETA testers will get to choose if they think its payware quality or not. Furthermore we already have BBJ pilots agreeing to test the aircraft for realism etc.

Modeller - Samuel Millar (me)
Modeller - Availible
Modeller - Availible

Sound specialist - Availible
Texture Artist - Availible
Gauge developer - Availible

Other milarky.

This is all I can really say right now unless I've forgot something, I would appreciate you keep the thread going, and it would also help us be more eager to complete it, not only for myself, but for the worldwide community of Flight Simulator users.

Sorry about my spelling if I have mis spelled anything (:

If you have ANY questions, please state them here or in a PM if necessary.

Best Wishes,
Samuel Millar

Sounds interesting, any idea on what modelling software you going to use?

Gmax?
It isnt as easy as it sound you know. Cant just write a big list of things that you want, but are very difficult to archive.
But I would like to BETA it, its Kenneth on hxf.

Hi Kenneth. I have already done modeling to a certain extent in Graphics Communication subject at my school using a series of programs.

Gmax is mostly what freeware modelers use for their models. Overall, great project tho achieving such task will take awhile unless you know what you're doing.

Good Luck and keep us updated

Looking for BETA testers let me know. Ive been flying the 737 for quite some time and along with the ERJ-Legacy know both aircraft inside and out.

Wish you luck. Looks like your trying to blow Ariane s BBJ out of the water. Make sure you actually call Boeing if your going to get it licsensed. Ariane missed that little important step.

The more the better mate.

I'm having some family problems right now, so when ever I can, I'll start the project.

May I also add that me and another member on this forum, (currently developing 748, and 787) have joined together in order to make the best we can.

Thanks

Id recommend NOT doing what Ariane has...and making it possible to have a 2D panel with an option to include VC/ Cabin like PMDG does. While I do love the Ariane VC it does have its downfalls, that being the refresh rate AND the buttons have a TERRIBLE interface.

I'll add my two cents.

it is refreshing to see new people coming to the hobby, and setting high standards for themselves.  New people is what has made the FS franchise so interestig for all - old and young alike (and age has nothing to do with it!)

Currently, for the hobbyist modeller the real modelling program choices are gmax (free) and FSDS by Abacus,

Both programs have learning curves.  *I* feel that FSDS has a less steep learning curve, but gmax is the more powerful modelling program.

The most important thing is to learn the program you're using FIRST, and keep pluggin away.

Given the specifications of the BBJ model you're shooting for, expect to take well over 6 months, if not closer to a year perfecting the model.

Good luck!!

Thanks.

I'll be looking for a selected number of BETA testers, and screenshotters, to take and test the product.

Its interesting you say that. The PMDG 744 and 744F was modelled using GMAX.

As to whether to use gmax/3DSMax/FSDS, or.....

IT's not necessarily the modeling program used, it's the artistry of the artist doing the modelling.

Whiskey Delta - go forth and model....  You've set a high standard for yourself, and YOU are the judge of your own success (and might I add, you'll probably be harder on yourself than we will!!)
