Not exactly what I said but hey, he was instructed FL60 initially, he read back 6000', I replied negative FL60, then he replied FL6000 to which I replied negative that will take you out of the atmosphere.
He then proceeded to on freq. saying I spoke too quick, I even typed the clearance on text so there was no escaping error.
He then said in a awful tone : Roger EGJJ compton 3 dept. initial Fl60 sqk 7775 and taxi short C1 E1 runway 33 is that any good?" Which resulted in: "Negative."
He then later said "You know what I'm leaving the session now tower to relax" with an awful attitude to which I said "Roger have a nice day and read the P.R.C". This pilot has got to have had the worst attitude I have come accross.
I would ask that pilot to educate himself in people communication skills before being arsey with me again as it just won't work.

I am a hack newb on Vatsim for sure. Have read the PRC several times...done a couple of flights but still afraid I am going to screw it up.
However, I am sure it comes down to attitude. When I do screw up the ATC communication (which is always) the controllers are quick to help me out as needed.
As far as training, I am all for it. is ZLA still the choice location for pilot training or has Vatsim kicked off the official training grounds of some sort?
Bman.

That being said, I had a great experience with a controller from Boise, Idaho...he had such a relaxed attitude (I think he was just happy to have some traffic...ha ha!).

All STARs at KDAL for North approaches are heavy traffic approaches. There is one where you come in across Dallas, out to the north and then turn 180 back for the runway. This stays out of KDFW's way. However there is an approach for KDAL where you fly with KDFW traffic for about 5 minutes. Instead of turning for final at KDFW you split off and hit one more waypoint before final for KDAL.
DFW is a confusing airspace.
